- 5 to 6 pounds cucumbers, sliced (10 – 12 medium cucumbers sliced thin, or enough cucumbers, onions and peppers to fill a 4 quart ice cream pail or a gallon jar 3/4 full)
- 2 yellow onions, sliced thin
- 1 cup green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup red bell pepper, diced
- 4 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups vinegar
- 2 tablespoons pickling salt
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon mustard seed
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
