Ingredients

• Homemade pie crust
• 4cups halved pitted fresh cherries
• 1/2 cup fresh raspberries or sliced strawberries
• 1/2 cup - 3/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1/4 cup cornstarch
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 tablespoon cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
• 1/3 cup sliced almonds, such as Diamond of California sliced almonds
• coarse sugar for garnish
• 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
