Apple Spice Cake and Traditional Fruit Cake

Ingredients

• 2 cups apple sauce
• 1 teaspoon soda (Mix soda with the applesauce)
• 2 cups brown sugar
• 1 cup black walnuts
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup shortening
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 2 cups raisins
• 1 cup grated raw apples
• ground cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg to your taste
• 2 1/2 cups plain flour
