• 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks/170 grams) butter softened
• 3/4 cup (175 ml) firmly packed brown sugar
• 1/2 cup (125 ml) molasses
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp (5 ml) pure vanilla extract
