• 1 1/2 pounds string beans
• 8 to 12 small new potatoes, boiled
• 2 heaping tablespoons minced parsley
• 1 small onion, minced
• 1/2 cup chopped celery
• 3 slices of bacon
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 2 tablespoons flour
• 1/2 cup weak vinegar
• 1/4 cup water
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 2 cantaloupes
• 1 pint vanilla ice cream
