Tamale Pie - Indiana Connection

Ingredients

• 1½ lbs. hamburger
• 1 onion, chopped
• 1 green pepper, chopped
• ½ tsp salt
• ¼ tsp pepper
• 2 tsp garlic powder
• 2 tsp chili powder, more or less to taste
• 2-14.5 oz cans diced tomatoes, do not drain
• 1 can creamed corn
• 1 package cornbread mix, such as Jiffy (and ingredients to prepare the cornbread batter)
