• 1 2/3 cups sugar
• 3 eggs
• 3 cups sifted cake flour, or 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup milk
• 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
