Elegant Linzer Tarts - Cookies - Kosher Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter or margarine
• ½ cup sugar
• 1 cup confectioner’s sugar
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• 1 tsp. almond extract
• 1 egg
• ½ tsp. salt
• 2½ cups flour
• 1 cup almond flour (or very finely ground almonds)
• Optional: ½ tsp. cinnamon and ½ tsp. nutmeg
• Approximately 1½ cups fruit preserves (jam) in the flavor of your choice (I used strawberry)
• ¼ cup water
• 2–4 tbsp. confectioner’s sugar for dusting
