Ingredients: 1 cup Unsalted Butter Softened to room temperature; 1 cup White Sugar Half a cup is used for the dough, and half for the lemon curd.; 2 Egg Whites; 3 cups Flour, All Purpose, Unbleached; 4 Egg Yolks; ⅓ cup Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed; 4 tbsp Unsalted Butter Softened to room temperature, or warm enough to mix easily; ½ dash Salt This is for the cookie dough. The lemon curd needs a pinch as well.; 2 tsp Lemon Zest; 1 tsp Vanilla

2003 was the first Christmas I'd baked these. I had been hoping to include in the cookie repertoire a lemon flavored cookie with a star theme.
