Ingredients

• 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

• ½ tsp salt
• ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
• 1 cup brown sugar, packed
• ½ cup granulated sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 cup granulated sugar (for caramel filling)
• 6 tbsp unsalted butter (for caramel filling), cut into pieces
• ½ cup heavy cream
• ½ tsp sea salt (plus more for sprinkling)
