Apple Financiers — Amoretti

Ingredients

• 2 apples (Granny Smith is best) peeled, cored and sliced
• ½ cup sugar
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 3 tbsp butter
• 1¾ cup Amoretti® Blanched Almond Flour
• ½ cup pastry flour (or combine ¼ cup cake flour and ¼ cup all-purpose flour)
• ½ tsp baking powder
• 1 cup egg whites
• 1 stick butter
• 1 tsp hazelnut liqueur, i.e. Frangelico
• 1 tbsp Amoretti® Blue Agave Nectar Clear
• 1 tsp Amoretti® Amaretto Extract W.S.
• 1½ cups caramelized apples, diced
