- ⅓ cup shortening
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- ¼ tsp vanilla
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 3 ½ cups flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 ½ tsp baking powder
- 2 Tbsp candied ginger, chopped fine (optional)
