- 250 g dried haricot or cannellini beans
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove of garlic, crushed
- 1 x 400g/14oz tin cherry tomatoes
- 1 tbsp cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp dark muscovado sugar
- 1 tbsp black treacle
- 2 tsp English mustard powder
- 1 tbsp tomato purée
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
