Ingredients

• 3/4 cup leftover mashed sweet potatoes
• 1/3 cup buttermilk
• 2 cups flour
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• 3 tablespoons sugar
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
• 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
