Orange Slice "Fruit" Cake Recipe

Ingredients

• 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 lb cut-up CANDY orange slices
• 8 ounces chopped dates
• 2 cups chopped pecans or walnuts
• 1 1/4 cups flaked coconut
• 1 cup butter or margarine
• 2 cups sugar
• 4 eggs
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1/2 cup buttermilk
• 1 cup orange juice
• 2 cups sifted powdered sugar
