- 1 cup long grain rice, washed
- 4 tbsp rice
- 2 onions, sliced lengthwise
- 4 cloves
- 5 black peppercorns
- 1 star anise
- 1 tejpatta
- 2 tbsp Shahjeera (caraway seeds) or cumin seeds
- 2 green chillies, slit lengthwise
- 7 cashewnuts and 8-10 raisins for garnish (optional)
- Salt to taste
