Swiss Custard Casserole

Ingredients

• 3 eggs
• 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
• 1/2 cup dry white wine
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
• 4 slices thin white bread buttered and crusts removed
• 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese or 1 cup Swiss and 1 cup cheddar
• Chopped scallions (optional)
• Diced ham (optional)
• 1/2 cup sauteed mushrooms (optional)
