- Nonstick cooking spray for greasing
- 5-6 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and diced ½ inch pieces
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 ½ cups plus 5 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ cups vegetable oil or any other neutral oil
- 4 eggs
- ¼ cups orange juice or apple cider
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- Confectioners sugar for dusting (optional)
