Chestnut, bacon & cranberry stuffing | Get Ahead Christmas
This fine recipe for a delightful stuffing would gladly grace any table or Christmas bird. The addition of the cranberries gives a nice fruitiness to mix.
Ingredients
- 100 g dried cranberries
- 50 ml ruby port
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 2 rashers unsmoked back bacon (cut into strips)
- 50 g Butter
- 2 garlic cloves (chopped)
- 450 g sausagemeat
- 140 g fresh white or brown breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- tsp ½chopped fresh thyme leaves
- 140 g peeled (cooked chestnuts , roughly chopped)
- 1 medium egg (lightly beaten)
