Red Velvet Cake and Icing

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup Crisco and 1 and 1/2 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 cups flour
• 1 Tablespoon cocoa
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 cup Buttermilk
• 2 oz. red food coloring (2 bottles)
• 1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1 Tablespoon of vinegar
• 1/4 cup flour
• dash salt
• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 cup crisco
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 stick oleo (butter)
