Currywurst & Chips (Germany) - Charles Saunders Food Service

Ingredients

• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 chopped yellow onion
• 1 small clove garlic, finely chopped
• 1 1/2 tbsp quality curry powder
• 1 tsp quality sweet paprika
• 1/8 tsp ground cloves
• 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
• 130g ketchup
• 1 tbsp tomato paste
• 5 tbsp vegetable or chicken broth
• 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
• 1 tbsp honey
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tsp sugar
• 1/4 tsp yellow mustard
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper
• 6 German bratwursts, bockwurst, rotwurst or weisswurst
• Extra curry powder for sprinkling
• French fries or crispy bread rolls (Brötchen) for serving
