French onion soup with croque monsieur

Ingredients

• French onion soup
• 60 gram butter
• 4 large onions, thinly sliced
• 2 clove garlic, crushed
• 1/2 cup red wine
• 5 cup beef stock
• chopped chives to serve
• Croque monsieur
• 8 slice white bread
• 2 tablespoon dijon mustard
• 4 thin slices ham
• 100 gram mozzarella or swiss cheese, sliced
• 20 gram butter, softened
