These are lovely served with mash, rice or some crushed boiled potatoes.
Ingredients
- 125 ml (4 fl oz/½ cup) red wine
- 4 basil leaves, torn
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled, 1 chopped and 1 squashed with the flat of a knife
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus 3 tablespoons extra, for frying
- 1 tablespoon chopped mint
- pinch of ground chilli
- 400 g (14 oz) tin chopped tomatoes
- 300 g (10½ oz) minced (ground) beef
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
