- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup neutral oil (like vegetable or canola) or olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- Optional: 1/2 bouillon cube (beef or vegetable), crushed, for a Maggi-style savoriness
- For the Potatoes
- 1.5 lbs potatoes (Yukon Gold or russet recommended), cut into even 1-inch chunks or wedges
- 2 tablespoons oil (neutral or olive oil)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
