  • 6 cloves garlic (peeled and crushed or finely chopped)

  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 5 whole cloves (or 1 tsp ground)
  • 5 whole allspice berries (or 1 tsp ground)
  • 1/8 tsp grated nutmeg
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes
  • 1 litre beef stock
  • 50 g dark chocolate
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Olive oil
  • Cooked spaghetti
  • Grated Cheddar
  • 1 white onion (diced)
  • Kidney beans
