Ingredients
- 250g of plain flour, or spelt flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 30g of caster sugar
- 1/2 tsp mixed spice
- 45g of butter, cold, cut into cubes
- 100g of glacé cherries, halved
- 1 lemon, zested
- 1 large egg
- 100ml of whole milk
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 2 tbsp of flaked almonds
- 4 tbsp of icing sugar
- lemon juice, 1–2 tsp
