Ingredients

• 2 cups All purpose flour
• 2 tsp Baking soda
• 1 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
• 1 1/2 tsp Ground ginger
• 1/2 tsp Ground cloves
• 1/4 cup Ground allspice
• 1/4 tsp Ground cardamom
• 1/4 cup Freshly ground black pepper
• 1/2 tsp Kosher salt (Diamond Crystal)
• 1 Stick unsalted butter, melted
• 6 tbsp Date paste
• 1/4 cup White granulated sugar (plus extra for rolling)
• 1/4 cup Molasses
• 1 Whole egg
• 1 tsp Vanilla extract
