Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp oil
  • grated coconut – 1/2 cup
  • dried red chilli – 7-8 (byadgi chilli)
  • corriander seeds – 3 tsp
  • chana dal – 2 tsp
  • urad dal – 1 tsp
  • fenugreek (methi) seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • 5 big chunks pumpkin, red
  • 5 chunks ash gourd (white pumpkin)
  • 2 Moringa (drumsticks), cut in finger-sized pieces
  • okra – 7-8 (cut in finger-sized pieces)
  • yam – 5 big chunks
  • 15-20 small onions (chinna ulli, optional)
  • Arhar dal – 1 cup (cooked)
  • 2 tbsp tamarind extract (recipe included)
  • turmeric powder (haldi) – 1/2 tsp
  • hing – 1/2 tsp
  • salt – as per taste
  • jaggery (optional) – as per taste
  • Water
  • coconut oil – 1 tbsp (or refined oil)
  • mustard seeds – 3 tsp
  • dried red chilli (or byadgi red chillis) – 2-3
  • curry leaves – 8-10
  • green chillies – 5-6
