Coney Hot Dogs with a Mexican Twist

Ingredients

• 12 brioche hot dog buns or soft tortillas
• 1 1/4 lbs lean ground beef
• 1 red onion, finely chopped
• 1 tsp dried oregano
• 1/2 tbsp chili powder
• 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/2 tsp garlic powder
• 1/2 tsp ground mustard
• 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
• 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
• 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, chopped, plus 1/2 tbsp of sauce
• 1/4 cup tomato paste
• 1 cup beef or chicken broth, plus more as needed
• Guacamole, store bought or homemade
• Pico de Gallo or salsa, store bought or homemade
• Marinated onions
• Sliced jalapeños, fresh or pickled
• Mexican rice
• Cilantro, chopped
