• 3 tbsp sugar
• 200 g/7 oz caster sugar
• 115 g/4 oz ground almonds
• 1 tbsp boiling water
• 2 green apples, cored and sliced
• 85 g/3 oz self-raising flour

• 2 eggs, well beaten
