Chocolate Chiffon Cake (Bolo de Chocolate) Recipe

Ingredients

• Cake:
• 7 large eggs, separated
• 1/2 cup of baking cocoa
• 3/4 cup of boiling water
• 1 and 3/4 cups of cake flour
• 1 and 3/4 cups of sugar
• 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
• 1 teaspoon of salt
• 1/2 cup of canola oil
• 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
• 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar
• Icing:
• 1/3 cup butter
• 2 cups of confectioners sugar
• 2 ounces of unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
• 1 and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 3 to 4 tablespoons of hot water
• Chopped nuts, optional
