Pesto Burgers - Sutter Home Family Vineyards

Ingredients

• 2 cups loosely packed fresh basil
• 3/4 to 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
• 2/3 cup chopped pecans
• 5 sprigs mint leaves
• 3 medium cloves garlic
• 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese plus extra to top buns with 1 teaspoon salt black pepper to taste
• oil for the grill
• 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
• 3/4 cup pesto or to taste, recipe below
• 12 slices sourdough bread or 6 sesame seed buns, toasted
• salt, to taste, if desired
• pepper, to taste, if desired
