Ingredients

• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 large onion, finely chopped
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 800g (1 lb 12 oz) smoked sausages, sliced
• 4 cups (960 ml) vegetable stock
• 1 can (400g/14 oz) cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
• 1 can (400g/14 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
• 2 tablespoons tomato paste
• 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1 bay leaf
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
• 2 cups (480 ml) full-fat milk or cream
• Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
