Indian Shepherd's Pie Recipe - Great British Chefs

• 1.2kg lean diced lamb leg
• 3 onions
• 3 tbsp of Rogan Josh spice paste
• 4 cloves
• 2 bay leaves
• 1 tsp cumin seeds
• 2 tbsp of garlic, chopped
• 2 tsp chilli powder
• 2 tbsp of low fat natural yoghurt
• 2 sweet potatoes, peeled and finely chopped
• 100g of celeriac, peeled and finely chopped
• 100g of turnip, peeled and finely chopped
• 2 tbsp of coriander, chopped
• 4 tbsp of sunflower oil
• 2 star anise
• 1 tsp fennel seeds
• 1/2 cinnamon stick
• 3 green cardamom pods
• 850g of mashed potatoes
• 1/2 tsp ground turmeric, optional
• 30g of half fat medium cheese, grated
