Date cakes are usually made by my mum so she is the inspiration behind this. Her and I however like different consistencies when it comes to cakes.

- 25 Pitted dates
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Melted Butter
- 1 cup Milk
- 4 Eggs at room tempreature
- 1 tsp Vanila Extract
- 300 g Plain Flour
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Clove
- 1/3 cup Date syrum
- 1 cup Pecans or Walnuts
- 1 cup Double Cream
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Melted Butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Pinch of sea salt
