Ingredients

• 2 carrots, peeled and diced
• 2 stalks celery, diced
• 4 green onions, finely sliced (white and green separated)
• 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
• 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) celery seed
• 2 tablespoons (30 ml) butter
• 5 cups (1.25 litres) chicken broth
• 1 bay leaf
• 1/2 cup (125 ml) alphabet noodles
• 3/4 cup (180 ml) frozen peas (optional)
• 1 cup (250 ml) diced cooked chicken or to taste
• Salt and pepper
