• 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
• 1 large onion, finely chopped
• 12 ounces medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 1 pound elbow macaroni pasta
• 1 small jalapeno pepper, seeds and ribs removed, finely diced
