• 1/2 C softened butter
• 3/4 C sugar
• 1 Egg
• 1 C all-purpose flour
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
• 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
• 2 C chopped peeled tart apples
• 1/2 C chopped walnuts(optional)
• Caramel Sauce
• 1/2 C packed brown sugar
• 2 Tbs cornstarch
• 1/2 C light corn syrup
• 1/4 C half and half cream or evaporated milk
• 1/4 C butter cubed
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 egg lightly beaten
