Ingredients

• 5 cups (750g) self-raising (self-rising) flour, sifted
• 3 cups (660g) caster (superfine) sugar
• 1 cup (100g) cocoa, sifted
• 8 eggs, lightly beaten
• 3 cups (750ml) milk
• 500g unsalted butter, melted
• 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
• hundreds and thousands (sprinkles), for sprinkling
• 200g unsalted butter, chopped and softened
• 1kg cream cheese, softened
• 3½ cups (560g) icing (confectioner’s) sugar mixture, sifted
• blue and pink food colouring
