• 2 pounds beef chuck roast , cut into 1-inch cubes
• 3 large carrots , peeled and sliced into ½-inch rounds

• 2 celery stalks , sliced thinly
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon salt
• ½ teaspoon black pepper
• 1 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
• 1 bay leaf
• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• Beef broth 2 ½ cups
• Optional: red wine ½ cup (for added richness)
