• 1/2 - teaspoon baking powder
• 1 - teaspoon ground red pepper (optional)
• 1 1/2 - cups milk
• 2 - large eggs
• Peanut or canola oil
• 1/3 - cup flour
• 2 - 3 tablespoons pan drippings
• 1 1/2- cups water mixed with 1 1/2 - cups milk
• or use all milk
