• 4 cups chopped unpeeled apples
• 1 cup chopped walnuts
• FROSTING
• 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
• 3 tablespoons butter, softened
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
