Flakey Pie Dough
Flakey Pie Dough recipe: This recipe was derived from the Cook's Illustrated recipe. It makes and awesome pie crust like the one I use in my "Salmon Pie" recipe.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups All purpose flour sifted
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 12 tablespoons cold unsalted butter cut into 1/4 inch slices
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening cold, cut into 4 pieces
- 1/4 cup vodka cold
- 1/4 cup cold water
