Almond and honey cake - Australian Almonds

• Cake ½ cup polenta 1 cup milk 1 2/3 cups plain flour 2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda ½ cup almond meal ¼ tsp ground cardamom 150g butter
• softened ½ cup caster sugar finely grated zest of 1 orange 3 eggs
• bruised with the back of a knife ¼ tsp almond essence Garnish zest of 1 orange
• zested into fine long strips using a mandoline or zester ¼ cup toasted flaked almonds
