Georgia Pecan Cake | Just A Pinch Recipes
I found this recipe in an old Southern Cookbook many years ago. Even though it is a little time consuming it is well worth it for those special occasions.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup(s) margarine
- 1/2 cup(s) shortening
- 2 1/2 cup(s) sugar
- 5 medium eggs (separated)
- 2 1/2 cup(s) flour
- 1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
- 1 cup(s) buttermilk
- 2 tablespoon(s) vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup(s) coconut (shredded)
- 2 cup(s) pecans (chopped)
- ## ICING
- 16 ounce(s) cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 pound(s) powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoon(s) vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup(s) pecans (chopped)
