Ingredients

  • ***For the steak:***

  • 1 pound sirloin steak, sliced very thinly against the grain

  • 3 tablespoons peanut oil, divided
  • 1 tablespoon fermented chili bean paste (doubanjiang)
  • 6 dried red chiles
  • 1 tablespoon whole Szechuan peppercorns
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced, plus more, to taste, for serving

  • 2 red bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • 2 small carrots, thinly sliced
