I came up with the yummy pot-roast recipe on Sunday evening when I had some red wine to use up and wanted a different roast recipe other than my cream
Ingredients
- 3 lbs chuck roast
- 3 tablespoons flour, salt and pepper added
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 medium onions, diced
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup full-bodied red wine
- 1 cup beef broth or 1 cup stock
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 (1 5/8 ounce) package mushroom gravy mix
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leave
- more salt and pepper, to taste
