Sticky Toffee Pudding | The Kitchen Scout

Ingredients

• 1 cup water
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 8 ounces pitted dates
• 1/4 cup (4 Tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
• 1 cup granulated sugar (see my substitutions below)
• 2 large eggs, room temperature
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 1/8 cup flour (1 cup plus 2 Tablespoons)
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• Pinch of kosher salt
• 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
• 3/4 cup unsalted butter (12 Tablespoons)
• 1/2 cup dark brown sugar (see my notes below)
