• 4 oz (113 g) mushrooms , wiped clean and sliced
• 1.5 tsp salt
• 0.25 tsp pepper
• 0.25 cup of dry red wine
• 1 tsp sugar
• 5 cups of water
• 1 lb (454 g) fettuccine
• 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
