Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs beef stew meat, cut in 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 2 medium carrots, shredded (1 cup)
- 2 medium onions, sliced (1 cup)
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cold water
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 6 ounces whole wheat egg noodles
- poppy seed (optional)
